Growth Mindset is a hot classroom philosophy for today’s evolving classrooms. What better way to instill the growth mindset in our little learners then by singing songs? Growing mindsets early can set students up for lifelong learning success! Our class loves singing songs and our Mindset Melodies bring our brains and voices together for class sing-alongs that we hope they’ll be humming for years to come. We wrote 20 Mindset Melodies which we use in our classroom all year long to introduce the growth mindset to our students. We wrote 20 original songs to instill the growth mindset in our students. Each song is set to a familiar children’s tune. We introduce one song at a time by using the class song posters, building the songs in our class pocket chart, rebuilding the song lyrics during centers time on our own song mats, completing the song fill-in activities independently and/or just singing along as a class any chance we get! We find the more we sing the more we know and the lyrics of our songs carry into our mindsets while learning in other areas too. There is no better feeling as a teacher than to hear them singing these songs and applying the growth mindset concepts as they learn.
