Teaching our young learners how to listen is a true teaching passion for us. For years, we have felt that for whatever reason, our students have become more and more disengaged from their own learning. Yet, the deeper we dug into our concerns, the more we realized that for whatever reason, many of them truly didn't know how to listen. So, we made it a point to start purposefully teaching kids the who, how and what of truly good listening skills both in and out of the classroom. But, let's be ... VIEW POST
Visual Reminders for Listening
Crazy for Hot Cocoa!
Nothing says loco quite like cocoa! It's amazing the work our class will do for the stuff! They are crazy for hot cocoa! We create this Loco for Cocoa bulletin board each year and leave it up past the holidays because, well, people drink hot cocoa in January too...And maybe even February...But, you didn't hear that from us. :) We spend the weeks leading up to winter break bringing a lot of special activities into our classroom, but our Hot Cocoa Party is one of our favorites. Visual Reminders That Work

Our guidelines for books are clear and we give plenty of time for families to find and wrap their books. We always have a few extra books on hand for any student who may not be able to provide their own. We allow them to choose the one ... VIEW POST

Here's What's Included Bat Label Me Bats Can-Have-Are Bat Facts “Bats, Bats, Bats!” Build a Poem “Bats, Bats, Bats!” ... VIEW POST
Shoe Tying Take Home Freebie
The BEST gift you can give a primary teacher is giving them a class full of students who know how to tie their own shoes. Seriously...The End. It may not seem like that big of deal. But, make this movie in your mind... A student has their laces undone... The teacher just bends down and ties them quickly and moves on with their delightful day. Only they don't...move on...because for every one untied shoelace, there is another. It's what some ... VIEW POST
